Our Challenge

The RSPCA believes that it is in the best interests of the donkeys at Lockwood that they are all kept in their familiar surroundings for the rest of their natural lives, especially as some of them are elderly, and it is possible that moving them could cause unnecessary stress in their advanced years.

In order to do this, considerable sums are needed to ensure that the Centre is brought up to modern standards, to make sure that the donkeys are given the best possible retirement. The current running costs of the Centre are about £800 a day and, in order to give the donkeys the best possible care, we are raising funds to ensure their retirement is a comfortable one.

Can you help us raise money to provide a loving and caring home for the donkeys so that they can hopefully see out their days comfortably? In doing so, you will be honouring the memory of John and Kay Lockwood who did much for these much-loved animals.

We know that many people are keen to ensure the continuation of this Centre, many of you have already shown incredible support and commitment to the Centre. We are extremely grateful for your continued support and we hope that you will help us raise the much-needed funds.
